On Friday 3th November, Year 6 had the chance to visit Chatham Historic Dockyard as part of their topic. It was a fabulous autumn day, perfect for our walk down and the different activities planned.
Hearts of Oak told the story of the Dockyard and how ships came to life, while H.M.S Gannet helped pupils to see what life on a ship would be like. Shipwrecks and rescues told the tale of Grace Darling, and ‘Whats in the bag?’ explored ship building, exploring materials and their properties.
Year 6 were a pleasure to take, and despite the ‘walk’ everyone had an excellent day and learnt a lot.
